A strong Spurs side recorded a second win over
Arsenal Reserves in just six days, with an old boy doing the damage.
The game began slowly with only a sixth header
from Chimbonda easily saved by Szczesny, but the first proper action of
the game happened in the 35th minute, with Alnwick throwing himself in
the way of Watt's shot after he was set-up by Randall and Thomas.
Spurs went close a minute after, when Jake Livermore struck a rasping
drive from 25 yards out that flew just wide of the post.
Then, in the 28th minute, Jamie O'Hara passed
the ball wide to Gareth Bale and he got down the left to cross to the
far post, where David Bentley struck a wicked volley past Szczesny from
about 15 yards out. It was a stunning strike and it was one which
was almost equalled ten minutes later, when Bale hit Bentley's corner
with real power, but the keeper managed to stop this one going in.
The Welshman was getting forward as often as he could and when Alan
Hutton's cross came to the far post, Bale rose to head at goal, but only
found the keeper.
Just before the break, Livermore showed the
defensive side of his game when he stopped Watt form turning to get a
shot on goal from close range and came away with the ball.
The second half started much the same way as
the first with Chimbonda testing Szczesny with another header from a
corner and then, twenty minutes in the woodwork came to Arsenal's
rescue, with Bale hitting a free-kick over and hitting the inside of the
upright before getting onto the rebound to find the outside of the
side-netting. Two minutes later, the left back was denied again by
the post, as the ball thudded off the inside after beating the keeper
all ends up with a shot across goal.
In the 69th minute, Szczesny was unable to do
anything about the second Tottenham goal, which was thumped past him
from 30 yards by a David Bentley pile-driver. The Arsenal goalie
did a bit better in the minute following the goal, as he denied Jacques
Maghoma who had cut in from the right to hit a shot on goal.
Within a minute, Arsenal had pulled a goal back, when Alnwick almost
stopped Watt's close range finish from Sunu's low cross.
The visitors were trying to get the equaliser
their play hardly deserved and seconds after the goal, Thomas came
inside Rocha and form six yards out missed the target as he pulled his
shot into the side-netting. Five minutes from the end, Fraizer
Campbell almost wrapped up the win with a shot towards the top corner,
but Szczesny reached up to knock it over the bar, but with the play at
the Arsenal end, the game ended with the three points going to
Tottenham.

Three goals saw Spurs Reserves record an
exciting win over Arsenal at Underhill. A foul on Takura Mtandari gave Tottenham a
free-kick on the edge of the penalty area for Gilberto to step up and
curl past the Arsenal keeper to give Spurs the lead in the 11th minute.
Spurs continued to attack as their early first half superiority pushed
Arsenal back into their penalty area. When Cian Hughton took the
ball from Arsenal midfielder Randall, he played in Ryan Mason, whose 18
yard shot was heading in but was kicked away by Shea's foot.
The home team had a chance from a free-kick
when Randall was brought down by Gilberto, with Merida shooting just
over the bar from the dead ball situation in the 34th minute. Ten
minutes later Bischoff floated a chip over the bar following Parrett
losing the ball just outside the area and a minute later, Watt was put
through by Bischoff, but Alnwick was out quickly to get something on the
ball to take it over the top.
The Spurs keeper was also quickly into the
action in the second half, denying Watt once more, as he pushed his
header from Merida's cross over the crossbar, but then Tottenham hit
back when Jake Livermore put a pass through to Jacques Maghoma, who cut
inside Eastmond to hit a fierce shot wide from just inside the box.
Ben Alnwick again came to Spurs' rescue when
Merida and Watt linked well to create a chance for the latter on the
edge of the box, but the Tottenham goalie tipped it over the bar once
more, with 56 minutes gone.
Spurs increased their lead in the 68th minute,
as a foul on Mason gave Spurs another free-kick on the edge of the area
and the striker got up to curl his shot around the wall and into the net
off the upright.
The lead became 3-0 in the 77th minute, as
Livermore closed down Ayling and took the ball off him. Running in
on Shea, the midfielder coolly slotted his shot past the keeper to give
Spurs a big lead. The latter stages saw few openings, but
Tottenham brought another save from the Arsenal keeper when a free-kick
into time added on for stoppages saw Mason almost replicate his goal,
but this time Shea got a touch on the ball, diving away to his right.

A quiet start to this Premier Reserve League
match saw the game burst into life, with Tottenham having the best of
the chances against their local rivals at Barnet FC. The first real chance of the night resulted in
Tomas Pekhart sliding home Jacques Maghoma's cross in the 11th minute at
the far post.
A mis-placed pas by Maghoma almost let Armand
Traore in, but his shot was deflected away by Dorian Dervite, then Tommy
Forecast was called into action to come out at Barazite's feet and push
his shot over the top. It was in this period of pressure that
Arsenal equalised through Traore's thunderous 30-yarder that gave the
Spurs keeper no chance.
Seven minutes after the break, the same player
could have given the home side the lead, but he skewed his shot well
wide, but this was the last real opening Arsenal created.
Tottenham began to press on and Pekhart flicked the ball on to Maghoma,
how was up-ended by Traore, but the referee did not see it as a foul in
the area. Danny Rose was becoming quite influential and his pass
to Simon Dawkins saw it flicked over the head of a defender, then shot
low at goal, only for Fabianski to smother it with a low dive.
That was ten minutes after the interval and a minute later, Jake
Livermore's low ball in saw Pekhart's shot bounce off the goalie and the
follow-up by the striker was heading for the bottom corner of the net
until Hoyte kicked clear.
With twenty minutes left, Fabianski made
another good diving save to deny Gilberto's drive after a Dawkins
back-heel put him in on the corner of the box. Arsenal's only
other notable effort was a long range Barazite effort that was always
rising over the bar, as Dervite tried his luck from 20 odd yards and a
defender got enough on the block to take the ball out of play. In
the last ten minutes, there was one last chance for Tottenham, when
David Hutton played Livermore in on the edge of the box, but the
midfielder's effort flew wide and the two teams settled for a point
apiece.
Teams :
Arsenal - Fabianski,

Spurs
eased to a comfortable away win at Barnet FC over Arsenal.
Spurs played downhill in the first half and it
took nearly 20 minutes before they threatened the home goal.
Charlie Lee fed Adel Taarabt, who exchanged passes with Andy Barcham
before hitting a drive just wide. Within two minutes the Frenchman
had opened up the right side of the Arsenal defence and picked out Mark
Yeates with his cross, leaving the impish striker the simple task of
nodding past Vito Mannone into the Arsenal goal.
Jamie O'Hara and Barcham went close to adding
to the score, as did Reto Ziegler, whose shot from the corner of the
penalty area fizzed goal-wards with Mannone unsure of his bearings.
The home side's striker Mark Randall stung Ben Alnwick's hands with a
volley and Jay Simpson went around the Spurs keeper and shot at goal
just before half time, but Leigh Mills recovered to head away the
effort.
Alnwick's punched clearance just after the
break fell to Randall, who hit a volley that the Spurs goalie did well
to get back into position to keep out. Ten minutes into the second
half, Kieran McKenna played in O'Hara from inside the penalty area and
the midfielder drilled home Tottenham's second.
Arsenal were given a lifeline when the referee
awarded a penalty after adjudging Phil Ifil to have fouled Giogos Efrem
and Simpson coolly converted the spot-kick, but the referee ordered a
retake and this time Alnwick guessed right and kept it out.
Alnwick had a fine game, producing a diving stop to deny Nacer Barazite.
With Henri Lansbury being sent off for a second
yellow card offence, Spurs saw out the game with a controlled display of
possession football, but carved out an opportunity to release McKenna to
hit a last minute goal past Mannone.
Teams :
Arsenal - Mannone, G. Hoyte,
Rodgers, Ogogo, Dunne, Lansbury, Barazite, Efrem, Randall, Simpson,
Steer.

Spurs
took the points from this reserve meeting with Arsenal with a single
Dave McEwen goal. A first half
performance by the Spurs midfield gave them control of the game and took
the lead in the 11th minute when Matthew Etherington's cross was met at
the near post by McEwen and his effort beat Alex Manninger at his post.
Spurs continued to hold the ball well and Piercy and Etherington moved
the ball around well.
The visitors rallied in the second half, with
Jermaine Pennant lively throughout, but apart from Walker's save from
Danielivicus, there was little too worrying for the Spurs defence to
deal with, while the physical battle between Yannick Kamanan and Ben
Chorley heated up, with the Frenchman getting past the Arsenal defender
with his strength, before Chorley chopped Kamanan down and got booked
for it. Piercy forced Manninger to save before he was substituted
and the game petered out with a more than comfortable Spurs victory the
outcome.

Spurs failed to show the derby spirit and went two goals behind in the
first half, both from dead ball situations, as Arsenal went on to win
0-3.
A more clinical finishing performance might
have seen Spurs come back into the match in the second half, as chances
were made, but none were made to pay and without having a shot on goal
from open play, Arsenal got a third, when Ollie Morah fouled Arsenal
substitute Neil Heaney in the box for the third goal to come from the
spot.

A Football Combination defeat at home to Arsenal saw Spurs lack
direction to make their possession count.
Without a finish to good build-up work, Tottenham were hit by a strong
Arsenal reserve side. Halfway through the first half, winger Peter
Marinello scored the first goal for the visitors and when it looked like
Roy Woolcott had pulled Spurs level, it was wiped out for an
infringement. Late on Marinello made it two, leaving Spurs no
opportunity to get back into the game.
