Spurs Youth beat Brighton and Hove Albion Youth in the First Round replay
in the Southern Junior Floodlit Cup at White Hart Lane. It was not an easy win for Tottenham against a feisty Brighton team, coming back from a 23rd minute opener by Gary Mabee to level through a Tony Towner header. Spurs went in at the break 2-1 ahead thanks to Danny Clapton's goal. The second half saw the Tottenham extend their lead when Chris Jones scored halfway through the half, but the Seagulls narrowed the gap with another Towner goal and then almost grabbed an equaliser at the end when they twice went close towards the end.
