Hungry for goals ??
Well, this is the DVD for you.
Never mind the 125 Greatest Spurs goals from
the past, this DVD has almost as many and by the time you add in all the
replays, there are hundreds !!
It was the sort of season for Tottenham.
And there were goals at both ends, so you can re-experience the pain of
our sometimes shameful defending, as well as the goals we created and
scored in a variety of ways.
Remember also, that Spurs were the Premiership leaders in striking the
woodwork and watching this review of the season will remind you how many
of those rebounds were actually converted. The quick reactions of
our players to the ball being loose and unclaimed in the area did lead
to a number of goals, while there are also some good footage of other
goalkeepers ... including our new signing Heurelho Gomes, stopping us
advancing in the UEFA Cup. The
highlight is the League Cup run, with good coverage given to the
semi-final and final, while there is the mad game at Christmas against
Reading, in which there were goals galore, as both teams went for the
points. The editing is really good
on the DVD, with some good interviews with players and management
(although not with Martin Jol) interspersed throughout. Some
players who don't normally feature in the limelight are given an airing
here and it is nice to see them get a chance to speak to camera.
Also, there is a pleasing lack of banging techno music across the disc,
with only a little music used and it is quite complementary to the
action rather than taking centre stage.
Of, course, as we are currently in the midst
of the summer transfer window, this may be the last chance to see some
of our players in the Lilywhite shirt, but if it is, it just goes to
emphasise what we could have achieved last season. A poor start
and a lacklustre finish kept us in 11th place, with the middle part of
the season being the section that kept us up and in the cups for a
while. With the action over, you
can refer to a stats section on the DVD, which is an interesting look at
the facts from the season and you can see who had most shots and most
crosses, if stats are your thing.
Altogether, this is a DVD that has much to recommend it and while it is
not the greatest season in the club's 125 year history, it did contain a
trophy win and some of the most exciting games in recent memory.
