Chris Adams was a winger who made few first team games at Tottenham, but was a loyal servant for four years, before going on to play for Norwich City and Watford.

Having been a star in a number of teams close to his Hornchurch, Essex home, Adams signed for non-league Leytonstone, but the winger was first spotted by Tottenham playing Army football on the “Saints” ground and signed as an apprentice amateur for Spurs in 1947, working on the club's ground-staff.

A hard-working left winger, Chris signed as a professional in 1948 and over the next four seasons, he went on to feature in the first team on six occasions, but he was a stalwart of the Reserves and A team. His role outside of the first team saw him become an elder statesman to the younger players in the side.

Feeling the need to go on to play first team football, Adams moved to Norwich City in 1952, where he played 29 games, scoring three goals.

However, two years later, he moved to Watford, where he spent another two years in which he scored five goals in 75 appearance. In 1956, the Football League allowed him a free transfer and the winger was back in non-league playing for Dartford.

Chris Adams died on 24th June 2012.
