A YTS trainee with Spurs Leon Archer was an
associate schoolboy, but made the Under16s, although he was not kept on and joined Leyton Orient in a similar position. Did not
make it in the professional game, so moved to Potters Bar.
The forward joined Boreham Wood in the
1999-2000 season, making his
debut in November 1999 against Chesham United before playing for Somersett Ambury and then Cheshunt. Debuted for Cheshunt against
Boreham Wood in August 2002 and while at the club won the Rymans League
Division 2 championship in 2002-03. That season, he also won the
Golden Boot for finishing the division's top scorer. In 2003-04,
he was part of the team that won promotion from Division One North.
Stayed for three seasons and scored 51 times
in 92 Isthmian League games before Leon rejoined Boreham Wood in January 2005 from
Cheshunt and finished the 2005-06 season with 31 goals in 50 matches as
the club's top goalscorer.
Signed for St. Albans City in January 2007
after scoring 16 goals for Boreham Wood up to that point in the 2006-07
season. Unfortunately St. Albans were relegated from the
Conference at the end of the season and Leon signed for Braintree Town
in the summer of 2007.
