Born in Edmonton, London
on 18th
September 1949
Brought up through the Spurs youth system as a midfielder.
Ray became an
England Youth international.
Moved to Swindon Town in June 1971 without making a first team
appearance for Spurs.
Stayed two and a half seasons at Swindon in the Second Division before
dropping into Division Three to join Colchester United in December 1973,
where he played for seven years.
A series of injuries forced
his retirement.
After he retired he performed the roles of coach and physio
at Wrexham. Died in Gresford, near Wrexham
on 15th March 2000
