2005
If you were
an actor, who would your leading lady be ? Either Halle Berry, who was
excellent in 'Monsters Ball' and memorable in James Bond's 'Die Another
Day' or Eva Mendes. She was great in 'Out Of Time' and '2 Fast 2
Furious'.
What keeps
you entertained on long journeys ? Diego Maradona's autobiography. I
read quite a few autobiographies and 'El Diego' is the latest one I am
reading.
Favourite
cartoon character ? Tom and Jerry
Favourite
town/city ? Newcastle, my home town where I was born and bred, it is
very lively and there things are always happening there.
What is
the most hi-tec piece of equipment you own ? Probably my iPod.
What is
good/bad about being famous ? If you are well known then you are
obviously doing the right things and doing well in your sport. Your
privacy being compromised sometimes is probably the only downside.
What day
would you like to live over again ? My England debut against Mexico in
may 2001.
What
annoys you ? Bad refereeing decisions.
Who is
your all-time sports person ? Michael Jordan, who absolutely conquered
his sport.
What
flavour filling would you have in a jacket potato ? Tuna mayonnaise.
What song
would you sing if you were doing karaoke ? Probably 'Father And Son',
the Boyzone version which I have listened to the most, as it is the only
song I know all the words to.
Do you
have a lucky charm or superstition ? No, not really.
What was
the last film you saw ? We watched 'Collateral' on the coach recently,
which was pretty good. I haven't been to the cinema for ages, and the
last film was probably 'Out Of time' with Denzel Washington.
What are
you scared of ? Heights. I went to Paris with the missus and we went
up the Eiffel Tower. The queue for the lift was too long, so we took
the stairs, and that was scary ! There was just netting between us and
the long drop, but the missus was just laughing at me.
What is
the best journey you've ever been on ? Moving from Newcastle, coming to
London and making the progression as a footballer and a person.
Do you
believe in ghosts ? No, I don't believe in them.
Who is the
quickest you have ever played against ? I know everyone says Thierry
Henry, but there is probably no-one quicker in the Premier League.
When did
you last cook and what did you cook ? I cooked a pasta dish the other
night and made the sauce from scratch with tomatoes, garlic, a few
onions, herbs and seasoning.
What did
you listen to in the car today ? Usher.
What do
you always put off until tomorrow ? Opening and reading the mail.
What's the
biggest surprise you have ever had ? When I got in the England squad,
mu Mum organised a surprise party for me at home in Newcastle. For the
first 10 seconds I just wanted to die, but it turned out to be a great
night.
What is
your favourite ice cream flavour ? The caramel ice-cream they serve at
Georgio's restaurant, near to where I used to live.
Is there
anything you can't live without ? Apart form the missus, family and
friends, I would say my car and my mobile phone.
Have you
ever played a musical instrument ? I played the drums at school, but
not very well. The missus bought me a guitar about 18 months ago and I
keep promising to take lessons, but I haven't done yet.
When did
you last get a yellow card and did you deserve it ? I can't remember
the last one … I certainly haven't been given one since I have been at
Spurs.
What is
your favourite animal at the zoo ? Lions, Tigers, all the big cats.
