Talented young defender who had yet to break into the Cruizeiro side, when he was spotted playing in a youth tournament in Holland by Frank Arnesen.
Snapped up and came to England to play originally in the Under-18 side, but quickly found a place in the middle of defence in the Reserves. Good in the air and keen to tackle, he looked a good player, who could use the ball from the back with his educated left foot and also was useful at dead ball situations at the other end of the pitch. Sometimes was a little rash in the challenge, which lead to the red card being brandished in his direction while playing for the second XI, but for a country not noted for their defenders, he looked a good prospect.
Got injured and didn't appear to fit into Martin Jol's plans, but went missing from the reserve teams for a while, when it was reported that the club had let him return home as he was homesick. This may have been to allow the player to try to find a contract with a side in his homeland, but when he returned, he was allowed to leave to go on loan at Udinese and then AS Roma, where his debut was as a 90th minute substitute in the Champions League.
It looks as though Spurs have sufficient strength in depth in the central defence area, so when he comes back to Tottenham, it may well be only to be told he needs to find a club to sign him on a permanent basis.
Spurs allowed the defender to join US Avellino in , but when that Italian club went bankrupt, he became a free agent returning to Brazil to play for Palmeiras B in Sao Paulo.
