A promising forward who came to Spurs as an 11 year old, Radwan Hamed collapsed on the pitch in a youth team game against Cercle Bruges in August 2006.
Despite being treated on the pitch for a heart attack, Hamed failed to make a full recovery and in the Evening Standard of 27.11.2012, it revealed that the player had been living with the aid of carers since then after suffering oxygen depravation to his brain, which ended his football career. As a result, the legal team representing the player are seeking costs for loss of earnings from the club and the consultant cardiologist who performed a test on him in 2005 for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
On 16th February 2015, the High Court found in favour of Hamed and awarded costs against the doctors employed by Tottenham Hotspur (70%) and Dr. Peter Mills (the FA's regional cardiologist) (30%).
