A tricky winger, Dai Jones was immediately shipped out to nursery side Northfleet United after he signed for Spurs from Newport County in 1931. And that was really the last seen of him in his Tottenham career, as he failed to make a significant appearance in a Spurs shirt, before he was shipped off back to Wales, with Cardiff City and where he had previously played with Ynysddu and went on to play for Newport again.
In between, the winger turned midfielder moved to Wigan Athletic, Swindon Town and Cheltenham Town, with one appearance in the big time with Manchester United in 1937 on the way.
