An inside forward, who begun his career playing for local sides Hucknall Primitives and Bromley Athletic.  Marshall then stepped up to league football with Nottingham Forest, Southport and Wolverhampton Wanderers before he was signed up by Port Vale in March 1930.

Marshall only played once for the first team at Tottenham, but he did score eight times in 20 reserve matches.

Moved on to play for Kidderminster Harriers, Brierley Alliance, Rochdale and Linfield in Northern Ireland.
