A marauding full back, Marcel McKie was always keen to get forward, but possessed pace enough to get back and regain the ground if opponents broke behind him.
Came through the youth set-up at Tottenham Hotspur from the age of 10 and represented England at U16, U17, U18, U19 and U20 level. Had a loan spell at Crewe Alexandra while in the Reserves as well as playing in excess of fifty reserve games for Tottenham, but was released before he had a chance in the first team.
After leaving Spurs he had trials with West Ham United, Wycombe Wanderers and Dagenham & Redbridge before joining Kettering Town and then Lewes. He moved from the south coast to St Albans City, before his short spell with Potters Bar.
Signed for Enfield Town in December 2008 from Potters Bar Town, but at the end of that season signed for Grays Athletic.
