Tottenham Hotspur's first skills coach, brought in by Martin Jol in 2005 and stayed until Juande Ramos was sacked, leaving the club around the same time in 2008.

Became a popular coach amongst the players, who showed that the teachings he learned under Wim Coerver, about the technical aspects of the player's ability, were something they enjoyed.  indeed, some of the technical skills of the players appeared to be more to the fore during Moniz's stay at Spurs.

A player for a range of clubs in his homeland before taking up the back-room side of the game, Ricardo had been a coach in various guises at a number of Dutch clubs before coming to England.

Following his departure from White Hart Lane, he linked up immediately with Jol again at Hamburg and when the manager left to take over at Ajax, Moniz stood in as caretaker manager.  But next destination, when he was replaced at the German club, was Red Bull Salzburg where he took over as Head Coach in April 2011.
