Reserve team winger during the early parts of the 1950s, but had more success at other clubs during his career.
Spotted playing in Norfolk, Spurs brought winger Quinlan to White Hart Lane and he made 59 matches in the reserves, A and B teams, hitting 14 goals.
At the end of the 1952-53 season, Reading came in for him with an £850 bid and Spurs let Eddie go to play for the Berkshire club. Quinlan's time there saw him turn out 53 times for the Royals and score 11 goals. He stayed at Elm Park for three years and then had another three years at Worcester City before he retired to run a greengrocers stall in Reading.
He was a keen amateur golfer and a member of the Reading Bridge club.
Eddie Quinlan died in a Reading Hospital on 19th March 2008.
