A left back, born in London, Mark was brought up in Redbridge and attended Roding Valley School, he represented Harlow and West Essex Schools.
Became an Academy player at Tottenham in July 2003.
Wright had trials at Norwich City and Charlton Athletic before joining Spurs, but was released by Tottenham in 2004/2005. He went to Southend United on trial and then as a scholar, but, in December 2005, he was loaned out to Conference South side Lewes.
Signed for Grays Athletic on a one year contract on 6th August 2006, but has been out on loan to St. Albans City, Crawley Town and Rushden and Diamonds, playing his first game in the Hillier Senior Cup Final in his month at Nene Park. Moved on to play for Fisher Athletic in the Blue Square Conference South, before he joined Thurrock FC and then finished his playing days back at Bishops Stortford.
Was selected for the England C squad and played 55 minutes in Bosnia in a 2-6 defeat on 26th September 2008.
On leaving football, he went into night club promotion and starred in the ITV show "The Only Way Is Essex" which centred on his club Deuces bar and Lounge.
