PREVIEW From the first game we know that Rochdale can play good football and have the players who can cause problems.  Ian Henderson is a goal-scorer who needs to be watched and Callum Camps is a play-maker, who kept going for the whole match.

Tottenham need to play at a  Premier League tempo to keep Rochdale chasing the ball and making them come out of position to allow chances to be created.  Keith Hill had them pretty well drilled and having struggled against Crystal Palace on Sunday, Spurs will need to be inventive and clinical to keep Rochdale out of reach of our goal.  With plenty of changes planned, it will be another test to see how the eleven who take to the field can gel, but they need to put in a top class performance to see off the League one side.

The big question is will Pochettino succumb to the Shearer selection of a strong starting side to get ahead and then make substitutions or will that cause problems if Dale come back and there are no subs left to change the game back in our favour.  I trust Poch to see this through with the side he feels most suitable to get a result, with the coming games in mind.

Even if the likes of Llorente, Sissoko and Aurier, who have been getting stick from Spurs fans on social media do play, then they should be up to seeing off the challenge from the Lancashire team.  With the players playing for their places in the squad for the remainder of the season, there will be enough incentive to spark a good result to reach the quarter final.
