15.03.1975 The Spurs Reserves winner in their home Football Combination match against Oxford United came early.  Martin Chivers struck in the fourth minute to record the only goal of the game, following a cleared Jimmy Neighbour corner which had been crossed back in by Ian Smith, with the Spurs centre-forward heading powerfully home.

While Oxford played their part in a game that swung from one end to the other, Spurs had the bulk of the scoring chances, but could not add to their goal tally.

19.08.1972 Oxford United Reserves gained a 1-1 draw at White Hart Lane with Spurs Reserves in the Football Combination.

Despite a lacklustre performance, Chris McGrath could have put Tottenham into the lead when he got onto a ball that got away from an Oxford defender, but when one-on-one with Kevin Thomas, the keeper came out to grab the ball at his feet. Spurs made a number of chances and scored one through Keith Osgood's 36th minute header.

It took only four minutes for Oxford United to equalise when Ray Pickett scored. The second half failed to produce many goalmouth incidents with a Graeme Souness free-kick and a low Ray Clarke shot were the only efforts which Thomas had to deal with and they did not exert him, leaving the score 1-1 at the finish.

18.09.1971 Spurs Reserves beat Oxford United Reserves by 2-0 and a knockout in this Football Combination game at the Lane.

Roger Morgan's cross set up Roy Woolcott for the opening goal of the game, having previously been denied by the goalpost earlier in the half, when Graeme Souness had also gone close.

The second half saw Tottenham take their foot off the gas, but they did score a second near the end when Souness scored and was knocked out in the process.
