REVIEW

In the 1946-47 season there were some odd results.

Our opening fixture, at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers saw Tottenham win 4-1, with Leicester City being trounced 6-2 in September, while Birmingham City enjoyed a 8-0 slaughter of Spurs at St. Andrews on their way to winning the Southern section of the league.

Spurs beat Chelsea home and away, got a win and a draw against Arsenal and defeated Aston Villa 3-0 at home with two goals from Millwall guest Jimmy Jinks and another from Charlie Whitchurch, but the man of the match was a young Eddie Baily at inside left.

The final game of the season was away at Coventry City, where George Foreman scored the only goal of the game.

In the FA Cup, for this season only, ties were played over two legs at home and away, with Brentford knocking Tottenham out. There was a 2-2 draw in the White Hart Lane game, with the Bees winning 2-0 at Griffin Park.
