REVIEW

When Spurs kicked off at home to Liverpool on Sunday 16th August, little did we know that this would be a season that marked a particular step forward for the club, with it ending in a Champions League qualifying place.

.

.

RECORDS.

Club's best ever start to a Premier League season -  nine points out of nine from three games
[Previous best seven from nine in three games in 2003/04 and 2005/6]

Second biggest win in Premier League history - 9-1 against Wigan Athletic on 21.11.09.

Jermain Defoe's five goals against Wigan Athletic equalled the most scored in a Premier League game

[Andrew Cole for Manchester United v Ipswich 1994/95 and Alan Shearer for Blackburn Rovers v Sheffield Wednesday 1999/2000].

21 wins is the most the club has achieved in Premier League history and equal to the 21 they won in the 1986-87 season.

A total of 19 different players have scored in the Premier League for Spurs this season; more than any other team in any other previous season.

The 70 points won was a club record in the Premier League and the best since they won 71 in the 1986/87 campaign.

.

ODDITIES.

Heurelho Gomes' two penalty saves against Sunderland on 03.04.10 were both from Darren Bent, who did net a third penalty.  Bent's only other miss from the spot for Sunderland that season was in the game at White Hart Lane on 07.11.09.
