Spurs Reserves made it six wins in seven games with a late 2-1 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road. With Erik Edman and Anthony Gardner returning from injury, Spurs had an experienced team out and when Alec Chamberlain touched Eddie Silva Sousa's shot wide for a corner, Mark Yeates' ball into the area hit the net off Marcus Gayle's head to give Spurs the lead in the 63rd minute. Silva and Yeates both went close but Watford thought they had salvaged a point six minutes from time, when Mauricio Taricco's clearance off the line from Anthony McNamee's corner was put back into the goalmouth and Marcel McKie tried to hack the ball away, but it hit Jamie Hand and went in to make it 1-1. Spurs hit back straight away with Silva striking the post, but into the last minute, it was Johnnie Jackson who popped up with a late goal to take the points. Yeates threaded a pass through to Jackson, who nudged the ball past a defender and then lobbed keeper Chamberlain from 18 yards out. Teams : |

21.02.2001 | A
Spurs reserve side with five Under-19s took the points in a 2-1 win over
Watford at Vicarage Road.
Spurs opened sharply with John Piercy, Johnnie Jackson, Ian Hillier and Steven Ferguson all going close, but they had to wait until the 37th minute for Andy Booth, Jackson and Ferguson to create a chance for Piercy to run through. His first shot was well saved by Richard Lee, but Piercy latched onto the rebound, only to see his second effort strike the crossbar, but when the ball bounced down Yannick Kamanan was on hand to knock the ball to make it 1-0. A route one goal two minutes into the second half put Tottenham 2-0 ahead. Ian Walker launched a long goal-kick up-field, which was left by the Hornets defence and Steven Ferguson got to the ball with his head before Lee, allowing him to put the ball into an open goal. With nine minutes remaining, James Okoll got on the end of a free-kick from Stephen Armstrong with his head to make the score 2-1 and Spurs were reduced to ten men with four minutes left after Piercy was shown the red card for dissent, but they held on for the victory. 27.09.2000 | Spurs
Reserves enjoyed a 2-1 home victory over Watford at Clarence Park in the
FA Premier Reserve League.
A strong Tottenham side took the lead in the fifth minute, when Willem Korsten hit an unstoppable 20 yard drive. Stephen Clemence and Matthew Etherington had opportunities to add to the score, but the team had to wit until Etherington played a one-two with Anderton and took the ball round former Spurs keeper Chris Day to shoot at goal. Unfortunately, the ball hit the inside of the post, but luckily, Ledley King was following in to put the ball into the net to make it 2-0. Watford did not give up and just before half-time, David Warner crossed for Charlie Miller to head home past Ian Walker. However, Tottenham resumed their dominance of the game in the second period, although they could not add any more goals, despite chances for Jose Dominguez, Korsten and Neale Fenn. Teams : |
