Another tournament final place was secured when Spurs Under-18s beat
Barcelona in the Tourneo Internazionale in Bellizona, Switzerland to go
on to meet Sporting Lisbon in Monday's final.
Spurs took the game to their Spanish opponents and
pressed them back into their own half, with Kudos Oyenuga having the
best of the earlier chances when he could only pull his shot wide.
Twenty minutes in, Ryan Mason's corner was floated into the box and
Stephen Caulker powerfully headed it into the net.
The Tottenham defence protected the lead,
ensuring that Oscar Jansson was left with little to do and the
score-line could have been doubled at the end, with a Nathan Byrne
effort producing a good save from the Barca keeper.

A
lacklustre Under-18 performance saw Spurs lose their final group game
0-1 to Dinamo Bucharesti, although they still go through to the
semi-finals having finished second in their group, where they will face
Barcelona. A game of few
chances was lost just before half time when Dinamo scored and while
Tottenham tried to get back into the game, they could not produce a goal
in what was an untidy game in which goalkeeper Mirko Ranieri starred
with some very good saves.
Teams :

A 2-1 win
over local side Team Ticini gave Spurs six points from two games and a
place in the last four with a game against Dinamo Bucharesti to come.
Halfway through the first half, Spurs took the
lead when Yaser Kasim crashed the ball past the Swiss keeper, but just
before half time, Ticini equalised following a free-kick.
There were few chance sin the second half and
the game was fiercely contested, but Spurs made a few openings as the
game entered the last ten minutes and a late goal from Kasim's cross was
finished well by Oyenuga to give Tottenham a narrow victory.

started their Torneo Internazionale fixtures with a 2-0 win over Guarnay
of Paraguay in Bellizona, Switzerland.
The Under-20 tournament sees Tottenham include four
Under-16s - Jesse Carroll, Olumide Durojaiye, Harry Kane and Kudos
Oyenuga.
The 30 minute first
half ended goal-less, but Spurs turned it on in the second 30 minutes,
although the opposition attacked strongly at the start of the second
half. Spurs went ahead when Adam Smith passed in to Kudos Oyenuga,
who rolled past his marker and shot home in the 45th minute from the
left side of the box. Five minutes later, the score-line was
doubled when Stephen Caulker rose to head Yaser Kasim's free kick past
the Guarany keeper.

Spurs
played in the four team Santiago tournament in Spain at the weekend,
making second place after their two games.
Spurs were 0-1 down to Deportivo La Coruna, but hit
back with goals from Kyle Fraser-Allen, Jon Obika and Dean Parrett,
which saw them through to the final against Benfica.
Once more, Tottenham fell behind and once more
fought back to lead 3-1, courtesy of Steven Caulker, Danny Rose and Dean
Parrett, as Spurs played some fine football, but a goal late in normal
time by the Portuguese side made it 2-3 and then an equaliser came in
the six minutes of injury time. The final went into a penalty
shoot-out and Benfica ran out winners.

A 1-0 win
over Glasgow Celtic in the semi-final of the Eurofoot tournament took
Spurs into the final against Eintracht Frankfurt.
A shot from Kyle Fraser-Allen was finished off by
Danny Rose to give Spurs a place in the final, where they met the German
side, who had already beaten them in the group stages.
Tottenham were soon 0-3 behind in a very poor
start, but battled back in the second period to score through Andros
Townsend and Danny Rose, but the Academy side were just unable to grab
an equaliser thus allowing Frankfurt to take their title.

Spurs
just managed to squeeze through to the semi-final with a last group game
win after two earlier defeats.
The day started badly with Belgian team Standard
Liege handing
out a 0-1 defeat, followed by Eintracht Frankfurt beating Spurs 1-2,
with the only consolation being a goal from Andros Townsend.
With only a win against Dutch team
Willem II, Spurs turned on the style to run out 3-0 winners thanks to
goals from Ryan Mason and Danny Rose (2).

Spurs
returned to Belgium to defend their Eurofoot tournament win of last
season. It was a good
start to the tournament for the Academy squad, who beat KAA Gent of
Belgium 2-0. Despite having Danny Rose contentiously sent off ,
Spurs
held on to the lead given to them by two goals inside the first 15
minutes. Andros Townsend set up Ryan Mason
for a shot from outside the box that flew in after ten minutes and then
Yaser Kasim finished off good work by Rose to double the lead.
Another Belgian side - Germinal Beerschot -
laid in wait next and a younger team struggled to get their football
flowing, but came out with a 1-0 victory secured when Ryan Mason's pass
was finished off coolly by Jon Obika.

A
busy final day of the Talence tournament saw Spurs once more having to
declare a trophy at Customs on the way home.
The
final group game resulted in a 1-0 win over
Poland's Lech Poznan as Dean Parrett scored the
only goal of the game with a neat finish.
This took Tottenham through to the semi-final,
against home side Talance, who they saw off with
a 2-0 win, thanks to goals from Alex Olsen and
Danny Hutchins.
Familiar opposition in the form of Alcala from
Spain awaited in the final and while the had won
the group match 1-0 it was a different story in
the final. A 3-0 victory, with two goals
from Jon Obika and a third from defender Calum
Butcher sealed the tournament win for Tottenham,
as they showed a winning mentality to overcome
their early setbacks.
As
well as winning the trophy itself, the club also
picked up the Player of the Tournament award,
which was given to midfielder David Hutton.

Spurs
competed in the Tournoi de Football de Talence in France, taking on
opponents in 40 minute group matches.
The Academy side drew 0-0 with French team
Lorient, then lost out 0-1 to Spanish outfit Alcala, although the
afternoon proved better for Spurs. A satisfying and well-deserved
win over Monaco by 4-0 thanks to goals from Calum Butcher, David Hutton,
Ryan Mason and Jon Obika was the prelude to a 2-1 victory against their
third French opponents of the day, Toulouse. Jon Obika and Ryan
Mason
were on the
score-sheet as the team were left to face Lech Poznan for a place in the
final

Spurs took the Monthey tournament
trophy to disappoint Sporting Lisbon in the final played over 80 minutes
(group games having been 70 minutes in duration).
It was a tough match, with both sides playing some
nice football, but a 10th minute goal from Tomas Pekhart (who else ?)
gave Tottenham an advantage. The Czech neatly controlled a cross
and made a little space to get his shot away to beat the Lisbon keeper.
Sporting were level just before the break though and Spurs were grateful
for strapping midfielder Jake Livermore, who struck a fine shot from
outside the box, halfway through the second half to give them the edge
in the end over a technically skilled Portuguese side.

The semi-final pitched Spurs against
Eintracht Frankfurt and a 1-0 win saw Spurs into the final of the
tournament. Tomas Pekhart was the man
on target, with a good move between Danny Rose, Ryan Mason and David
Hutton culminating in Mason being felled for a penalty that Pekhart
tucked away in the 55th minute. In the first period, Spurs had
gone close through Pekhart and Troy Archibald-Henville hitting the bar,
but had to withstand a late Frankfurt charge, as they strove for an
equaliser, which did not come.

Sevilla were Tottenham's opponents
in their final group game with both clubs having a semi-final place at
stake. An early goal by the Spanish
side after only two minutes rocked Spurs, but they showed great
character to battle back for a 4-2 win. After good work by Pekhart
on ten minutes, Joe Martin finished well from a tight angle to restore
parity, then Ryan Mason hit a long range shot that went into the net and
Martin headed home from a corner to make it 3-1 within ten minutes of
the first Spurs goal.
After 60 minutes, Sevilla got back into the
game with a second goal, but Tottenham closed out the game with another
effort from Mason, this time knocking home Andros Townsend's cross.

Tottenham faces Swiss side FC Sion
on their second group game and won 3-1 in Aigle.
A foul on Tomas Pekhart in the penalty area saw him
recover from the tackle to score from the spot in the 11th minute, then
a 25th minute goal from a 20 yard drive from Jake Livermore doubled
Tottenham's advantage.
On the hour, Danny Hutchins' quick thinking saw
him take a free-kick sharply and put Danny Rose away to finish well on
the hour. While Spurs were in control, Sion got a goal back near
the end of the match.

Spurs
started their programme in the Viareggio tournament in Italy with their
Under-20 side drawing 3-3 with Genoa who won the tournament last year.
Joe Martin gave Tottenham the lead when a free-kick dropped to
his
feet in the area and then, following a Genoa equaliser, Simon Dawkins
knocked home Danny Rose's near post cross to give Spurs the lead again.
It was winger Rose who was fouled in the box to allow Tomas Pekhart to
score from the spot to put Tottenham ahead for the third time.
That lasted until the 70th minute, when the side from Italy pulled the
game back level for a third time.

Spurs
youth team won the Eurofoot 2007 tournament in Belgium with a resounding
win over Anderlecht, with Yuri
Berchiche picking up the Player of the Tournament award.
The opening game for
Spurs in the U19 Eurofoot tournament saw them see off home country
side Club Bruges 3-1 on Friday 3rd August 2007.
It took only about 20 seconds for Andros
Townsend to open the scoring, with Tomas Pekhart and Ryan Mason also
hitting the target to ease Spurs to an opening three points.
Later the same day Spurs faced Olympiakos and
took the lead with Tomas Pekhart scoring again. But despite having
the bulk of the ball during the game, a late free-kick undid Tottenham
and a 1-1 draw was the result.
On Saturday, Tottenham met Cercle Bruges and
once more the team's dominance was not reflected in the score-line.
While not a s fluent as the previous day, Spurs were awarded a penalty
when David Hutton was fouled and Tomas Pekhart slotted past the Belgian
keeper, but could not find a winning goal.
A direct style played by Willem II was next up
for Spurs and the long ball to the centre-forward found the defence out,
giving the Dutch side an early 2-0 lead, which Tottenham didn't
threaten, although chances were created.
A third game of the day produced the win needed
to progress in the competition, as Spurs beat Standard Liege 1-0.
Chance after chance arrived, but the only one taken was converted by
centre-half Chris Casey late on.
Sunday 5th August saw Spurs in the semi-final
up against German side Eintracht Frankfurt, who were strong and
physical. A single goal settled the meeting and Tomas Pekhart once
more got the important goal early in the game. As Frankfurt came
back into the game, tactical changes firmed up the Spurs side and they
could have added to the score on the break.
The final took place later that day and was an
open affair, in which Tottenham ran out comfortable 4-0 winners.
Dean Parrett gave Spurs an early lead that settled the team and allowed
them to play a more expansive game. Just after the break, Tomas
Pekhart scored and Andros Townsend produced a fine solo effort, with
captain Jake Livermore completing the scoring that allowed him to lift
the prestigious trophy.
