03.04.2010 Spurs Academy side were knocked out of the Dallas Cup at the semi-final stage by Cruzeiro of Brazil at the Pizza Hut Park stadium of Dallas FC.

Cruzeiro took the lead after 10 minutes, but Spurs hit back with Kudus Oyenuga having three good opportunities to score.  He was kept out by the keeper when through one-on-one, had another shot saved and then met Paul Jose M'Poku's cross with his head, but failed to find the net.  When Cruzeiro attacked, they scored again, but Jake Nicholson reduced the arrears from the spot after a penalty was awarded for handball in the 35th minute.

Although Spurs controlled a long period of the second half, the final pass or shot failed to breach the Brazilian defence and when pushing for the equaliser, they were caught on the break and Cruzeiro took a 3-1 lead with two minutes to go.  Only the crossbar prevented Nicholson making it 3-2 from the penalty spot again, leaving Cruzeiro through to the final at the final whistle.

31.03.2010 With a 2-0 win over Tigres of Mexico, and other results going Tottenham's way, the Academy side qualified for the semi-final of the Dallas Cup as group winners and will face Cruzeiro of Brazil next.

Spurs could have taken an early lead, when Kudus Oyenuga was felled in the box and Paul Jose M'Poku's penalty failed to beat the keeper, who saved it.  However, on 35 minutes, M'Poku crossed to the far post in the 35th minute, where Oyenuga rose to head into the net.

While the team were good going forward, their finishing did not match the approach play and they had to wait until the 75th minute to grab the clincher, when Nathan Byrne burst forward and went through the middle of the Tigres side to take the ball round the keeper and slot home the winner at Richland College Field.

29.03.2010 A 1-1 draw with the Japanese national Under-20 side put Spurs Academy in a good position to progress in the Dallas Cup at Richland College Field.

The early loss of Anton Blackwood with a hamstring injury did not disrupt the team too much and his replacement Jack Bartram put in the cross for Nathan Byrne to head back across goal for Jesse Waller-Lassen to knock the ball home from close range.  Ten minutes into the second half, Sugimoto turned his marker in the box and slotted past Jansson to equalise.

Spurs came back into the game and Tom Carroll struck the post with a shot and a header from Kudus Oyenuga failed to hit the net when he was well-placed in the 80th minute.

Teams :
Spurs -
Jansson, Blackwood (Bartram 20), Francis-Angol (Pritchard 60), Cox, Durojaiye, C. Butcher, Nicholson, Carroll, Byrne, M'Poku, Waller-Lassen (Oyenuga 70)

28.03.2010 Tottenham's Academy side opened their Dallas Cup campaign with a 2-1 group win over hosts Dallas Texans in the Dallas FC Pizza Hut Park Stadium.

Starting confidently, Spurs went ahead in the 20th minute when triallist Massimo Luongo headed home Paul Jose M'Poku's cross.  Continuing to go forward, Tottenham went close with an effort from Kudus Oyenuga and then Tom Carroll hit the upright.  These misses became costly in the second half, when the Texans equalised through a deflected free-kick in the 62nd minute.

Spurs responded with an attack of their own, which saw Alex Pritchard fouled in the penalty area and Anton Blackwood stepped up to convert the spot-kick to give them a 2-1 lead they preserved until the end.

Teams :
Spurs -
Jansson, Blackwood, Cox (Bartram 80), Nicholson, Durojaiye, Butcher, Byrne, Oyenuga (Waller-Lassen 75), Luongo (Pritchard 55), Carroll, M'Poku (Francis-Angol 77)

15.04.2009 Progressing to the final, Spurs met Sporting Lisbon, who were favourites to win the trophy.

Spurs took the initiative and scored two goals early on in the game to put them in control.  A fifth minute free-kick by Ryan Mason curled into the goal and then Calum Butcher hit a shot three minutes later that was blocked, leaving Nathan Byrne to convert the rebound to make it 2-0.

Sporting came back into the match and scored three minutes after the break, netting after a dead ball situation, leading to a torrid last 20 minutes for the Spurs defence.  With Oscar Jansson making a save with his feet with a quarter of an hour left, Tottenham had taken all that the Lisbon side could throw at them and ended the game holding the ball and making some ground of their own before the final whistle blew.

14.04.2009 The semi-final pitched Spurs in against Spanish club Barcelona in a tough match.

A 20th minute header by Steven Caulker from Ryan Mason's corner was the only goal of the game and there were more chances for Tottenham to extend the lead, but they failed to take them.  However, Oscar Jansson in the Spurs goal was rarely called into action.

13.04.2009 A 0-1 reverse against Dinamo Bucharest in the final group match was the only disappointment of the Bellizona tournament.  A single goal just before half-time, was the only strike from the Romanian side that beat Mirko Ranieri, who pulled of five fine stops.

The defeat left Spurs second in their group to face the team who were top of group B, Barcelona.

Teams :
Spurs -  Ranieri, Nicholson, Cox (A. Smith 31), Ekim, Caulker (Kane 31), Durojaiye, Carroll, Mason (Oyenuga 31), Waller-Lassen, Parrett (Kasim 31)

12.04.2009 The second group game of the Bellizona tournament saw Tottenham face Team Ticino, who were a local club.

An older side in opposition made things tough for Spurs, but Yaser Kasim hit the net in the first half and despite Ticino equalising, Kudos Oyenuga was on hand to score in the last minute to give Tottenham a 2-1 win and a place in the semi-final after two wins.

Teams :

11.04.2009 Spurs youth travelled to Switzerland to take part in the Bellizona youth tournament, with matches being of 30 minutes duration each half.   The first group match was against Brazilian side Guarani, but, with some players still back in England with the reserves, there were a number of younger players making their first appearances in the team.

Adam Smith did well to set up Kudos Oyenuga for the first goal 15 minutes into the second half, before a second goal came from Steven Caulker, who headed in a free-kick flighted over from Yaser Kasim.

Spurs -  Jansson, A. Smith, Cox, Ekim, Caulker, Butcher, Waller-Lassen (Carroll 44), Kasim, Oyenuga, Kane, O'Neill (Durojaiye 44).

01.02.2009
Tottenham earned third place in the Chivas tournament in Guadalarjara by beating Club Deportivo Guadalajara or Chivas as they are better known.  The tournament featured 24 teams and was played in heat and at altitude, so the Spurs boys can be proud of their achievement in one of the world's most highly regarded tournaments.

Spurs took a 1-0 lead when Harry Kane controlled Kudos Oyenuga's through ball and then slipped his shot under the advancing goalkeeper, but Chivas hit back before Jon Obika's shot from the edge of the area restored Tottenham's lead.

Two minutes into added time, Spurs let Chivas in for an equaliser at 2-2 and the game went to a penalty shoot-out with Dean Parrett, Jon Obika, Yaser Kasim and Ryan Mason all scoring, while Oscar Jansson, who was brought on with the shoot-out in mind, making one save and another spot-kick being fired wide by a Chivas player to give Spurs a win 4-2 on penalties.
