spurs youth friendly matches reports

22.11.2006 Spurs youth team travelled with the First team squad for the UEFA Cup match in Germany and took on the Leverkusen Academy side in a  friendly.

Leverkusen put on a fine display and went ahead through goals from Tervik Kose and Slobodan Lakicevic, while Spurs went close with Jake Livermore going close and then getting one back for Tottenham on the hour with a close range finish.

However, the pace of the German attack troubled Tottenham throughout and David Button was called upon on three occasions to keep out good efforts from Leverkusen.  He had no chance with five minutes left, when Alexander Riss finished the scoring at 3-1 to the home side.

03.01.1981 The availability of a free weekend was filled by a friendly for the Spurs Juniors against the Royal Navy at Cheshunt.

Spurs found themselves 0-2 behind to the sailors of the Navy team, but they kept battling away and grabbed a goal back through Elmore Toppin, who fired a 20 yard effort into the net, but it wasn't enough to stop the Navy sailing on to a 2-1 victory.
