A young midfielder who did
not make the breakthrough to the first team and moved on
to find regular football.
Born at Dagenham, Gary attended Parsloes Manor School and was selected for the Barking Schoolboys side.
Most of his games at Tottenham were
played in the Youth team, but he did appear in the
reserves before leaving the club in 1976 after four
years to join non-league Margate. His industry
made him a favourite among the Kent side's crowd and
he became a stalwart for eighteen months, before
dropping out of the side and going on loan to
Maidstone United. Staying for two months, he
returned to the Margate first team, but left the
club during the 1978/79 season after a short spell
on loan at Dartford at the start of the campaign.
He later turned up at Leytonstone/Ilford in 1980/81.
