Spurs youngster who came through the youth system, but didn't make the first team at White Hart Lane.
Attended Plaistow Grammar School, continuing his studies as he played in the local schools representative side with Frank Lampard senior the full back on his opposite flank. Turned down an apprentice professional contract, but then signed with Spurs as a junior in the 1964-65 season in the South-East Counties league, before moving up to win a Metropolitan League championship medal the following year with the A team.
In the summer of 1967, Andy signed as a professional with Tottenham and was a mainstay of the Metropolitan League side, making a single appearance in the Football Combination for the reserves and after two years, he was released in July 1969.
On leaving Spurs he trained to be a teacher whilst playing non league for Cheltenham Town and Forest Green Rovers.
Andy enjoyed a
long career in football and notched up 1000
competitive appearances. He currently teaches children
with Special Needs in Cheltenham and has had spells
coaching at local Centres of Excellence and Academies.
