Defender Les Boughey served the Spurs youth and reserve teams well for a number of years, but could not break into the first team.
Les attended Turnford Secondary Modern and played for Cheshunt Youth Club and for Lea Valley, Hertfordshire and London Schoolboys teams.
Signed as an apprentice
in August 1969, Boughey established himself as a youth
team defender and was given a professional contract in
1971.
