Still has mementoes of his time at the club in his flat.

Bob's most memorable match was home FA Cup tie with Aston Villa in 1920. “That was a great game. Unfortunately, Tommy Clay had the bad luck to put through his own goal and that put paid to our semi-final chances.”

He rated Jimmy Dimmock as the greatest of all the players he played with.
