Brian Farley followed his Chelmsford City manager Arthur Rowe to Spurs, but featured in the Tottenham first team only once.

Farley moved to Chelmsford when young and played for his home-town club as a youth player, signing professionally for Chelmsford City in 1945.

Signed for Tottenham in 1949, having played under Arthur Rowe at Chelmsford.  Was used as cover for centre-half in the promotion and championship winning teams of 1949-50 and 1950-51, but only made one appearance, in which Brian unfortunately scored an own goal.
