Tommy made six appearances on the bench for the first team during 2007-08, with Radek Cerny deputising for the out of form or injured Paul Robinson. However, he did not make it onto the pitch and at the end of the season, Forecast left to join Southampton on a five year deal for an undisclosed sum. Initially he was third choice keeper at the New Dell, even though there were a number of clubs interested in signing him.
Moving as part of a deal to provide finance to cash strapped Southampton and to remove some of the conditional payments in the transfer of Gareth Bale, Forecast was used as a make-weight.
