John Hollowbread first appeared for Spurs in an Eastern
Counties side in 1950-51 as a 17 year old.
Working his way up through the ranks at Tottenham,
Johnny was the 1958-59 season first team regular
goalkeeper and he made over 70 appearances for the
senior team before departing for Southampton in 1964.
A leg injury against Coventry City ended his Southampton
career, but he stayed in the area running the Manor
House pub on Portsmouth Road in Bursledon. Managed the
pub team in the local Sunday league.
