A player who did not find success or fame at Spurs, after coming to the club in a direct swap deal for Jimmy Robertson, with Tottenham believed to have got the worst of the transaction.
A wide midfielder who lacked an electric turn of pace, but was big and strong and could score goals, Jenkins failed to settle at Tottenham and did not get a lot of first team action, as the emergence of Steve Perryman filled the slot that Jenkins may have been recruited for. In four years he only made 17 appearances, before leaving to join Brentford in 1972.
Stayed for only nine months before signing for Hereford United, who he helped to gain promotion to the Third Division in that 1972-73 season. Moved on to later play in the lower league, South Africa and non-league. Tried his hand at management with South-West clubs Clevedon Town and Taunton Town.
