A versatile midfielder or defender, who established himself in the reserves as captain for the 2006-07 season, but, despite being called up to the first team squad, could not make the breakthrough.
Charlie entered the Academy in 2003-04 and went on to sign a professional contract in July 2005.
Was on loan at Millwall where he played times, but returned to play an important part in the Reserves Southern Division title win in 2005-06.
On the small side for a central defender, Lee made up for it with his tenacity and ability to win the ball in the air against bigger opponents. Good on the ball and with a good sense of when to move forward to support the attack, he lead the reserves well and although a regular in the second XI, he only received calls in the 2006-07 season to the first team when injuries hit. He travelled to some UEFA Cup ties as a squad member, but was not called upon to play in the first team.
At the end of that season, Charlie was released to find a new club to further his career at Peterborough United, who beat off 16 other clubs to sign the player. Gained promotion to League One in his first season at London Road. After four years at London Road, which included three promotions and a relegation, Lee was off to Gillingham, where he won a League Two championship medal with the Kent club.
Released at the end of the 2013-14 season, Stevenage picked him up on free and he found himself alongside two other ex-Spurs in Dean Parrett and Cameron Lancaster.
