Tottenham Hotspur manager
Mauricio Pochettino strengthened his scouting department
this week with the addition of Leicester City's Head of
Technical Scouting, Rob Mackenzie.
The move follows the appointment of Paul Mitchell as
Head of Recruitment and Analysis in November of last
year.
APPOINTMENT
Mackenzie joins Tottenham after five and a half years at
Leicester City, where he held a first team Performance
Analysis role before being appointed Head of Technical
Scouting. He was responsible for providing supplementary
information to Head of Recruitment, Steve Walsh. He also
highlighted and profiled European players and regularly
observed games. He conducted both opposition match
reports and individual player assessments.
His boss at Leicester
Steve Walsh previously worked under José Mourinho -
during his first spell at Chelsea - as Chief European
Scout. He also worked with former Middlesbrough player
Dave Mills. You can be sure that the experience around
him in the office at Leicester's training ground will
prove valuable in his new role at White Hart Lane.
EDUCATION
A well educated individual, Mackenzie has a BSc (Hons)
in Sports Science (Psychology) and a MSc in Psychology
of Sport from Liverpool John Moores University.
Recently, he completed a PhD in Performance Analysis in
Professional Football at Loughborough University.
