Terry Naylor was
born in the Arsenal heartland and started with that
club, but came to Tottenham as a youngster and earned a
cult following as a whole-hearted and committed defender
in some of the club's darker times.
In his schoolboy days, Terry played for Islington boys,
trained with Arsenal and was on Millwall's books before
he signed for Spurs as an amateur. Signing as a
professional in summer of 1969, his debut came the
following Easter.
