Joe attended Holloway School and played alongside other Spurs youngsters such as Mike Dillon and Ray Clarke in the Islington School side.
Having played 1968-69 in the Junior side, but stepped up when he signed professional in August 1970 to play in the Youth team.
In 1970-71 he was a regular member of the youth team back four and also made three reserve appearances.
Lives in Ponders End, but
born in Islington, where he went to Holloway School,
playing for Islington Boys in the same team as Mike
Dillon and Ray Clarke. Joe went on to play for the
London and Home Counties schoolboy teams. He stayed at
Holloway School beyond 16 and got an A Level in
Technical Drawing (Engineering).
Used to live near Highbury and used to go to watch the
Gunners.
Joe had an interest in coaching and helped Pat Welton
out with the Under-13s and was planning to take a FA
Coaching course in the summer of 1972.
Left Spurs in the summer of 1974 to move to Fulham.
