Les Stevens came to Spurs before World War II as a member of the ground staff, but had to wait until 1946-47 to become a regular in the first team.
Playing outside left, Les served in the War in the RAF, but on his return to club became a professional.
Stevens racked up a total
of 58 League and FA Cup appearances before he left to
sign for Bradford Park Avenue in 1949. He then
went on to play for Crystal Palace. Les later went on to
non-league to play for Tonbridge, Snowdown Colliery
Welfare and Ashford.
