Sturdily built 16 year old forward, who joined Spurs ahead of a number of other clubs (Bolton Wanderers, West Ham United, Arsenal, Everton, Burnley, Southampton) and having had trials with Newcastle United, Manchester City, Leeds United and Nottingham Forest. Scott Thyer came to Tottenham with heaps of promise.
Starring for Wales in the Victory Shield, the fifteen year old Scott Thyer attracted a lot of scouts to watch him and he was training with Swansea City (his nearest club), who hoped to sign him up, but Spurs persuaded him to come to London and he did well in the youth sides, using his physical presence to good effect. Such was his build that he was dubbed the "Welsh Wayne Rooney".
However,
for whatever reason, he did not live up to the
expectations of the Spurs youth coaches and when told he
was being allowed to find another club in the summer of
2005, he left to go on a one week trial for Swansea
City.
After that he seemed to drop off the radar football
wise.
