Roger Wade, the Irish defender, had a good grounding at Spurs, but was never called upon to represent them in the senior side.
Wade was a Republic of Ireland Youth international defender, qualified through both parents coming from the Republic, even though he had played for England Schoolboys, Kent County and Blackheath Boys teams.
Signed up as an apprentice in April 1974, Roger made three Football Combination appearances during his first campaign for the club.
