The club's new laundry, costing £5,500, was open in
September 1970.
New ball court planned for Paxton Road at £70,000.
Improvements to be made to the catering at the ground with a new modern bar at rear of East Stand, costing about £6,000.
In the programme for the visit of
Manchester United to White Hart Lane on 5th December 1970, the club
ran a piece as follows - This impression was entirely false, and we can assure every supporter who happened to see that newspaper report that every member of the team, and the Club as a whole, regard the destination of the championship as far from settled at this relatively early stage of the season." Jimmy Neighbour has an odd souvenir of his first start for Spurs in this match. During the match, Jimmy took a corner at the Paxton Road End and kicked the corner flag, breaking it. He was given the broken flag post and put it in the garden of his Chingford house when the ground had softened. Alan Mullery captained England for the first time last week and also received the Evening Standard award for “Footballer of the Month” for January 1971. The Spurs captain also attended the Anglo-American Sporting Club's function for the London Federation of Boy's Clubs boxing Championships at the Hilton Hotel .
Spurs Youth left on May 19th to play in the Feyenoord tournament in Rotterdam between 21st and 23rd May. The party spent a few days in Scheveningen before coming home.
It was announced that reserved seating for season 1971-72 would rise 5p to £0.80.
